[Creepmas] Day 12 - Toys For The Kid In All Of Us

Matt and I collect toys. Sometimes we are asked if they are for our children while checking out and I reply - "we do not have children" and get odd stares. Matt and I also like to talk about the toys we grew up with as kids - many of the same ones circulated within our toy chests! If you are like us and love spooky cute toys here are my top picks. I guess they are suitable for children too but I am allergic to children so use your own judgement!

Vampletes make super soft cuddly creatures to snuggle with. There are many undead critters to choose from including a Vampyre Bat named Hector! I wonder if he was the first in the bat gang to die? Sorry Moz reference!

Winter time means yeti time! This plush will have you yelling for yetis! Say Hello to Yurik your foreign exchange pal who wants to sip vegan hot cocoa with you!

Monster High dolls are not only cool - they serve as fashion inspo for me. Luna is actually one I have in my collection because -duh- insects! We also sponsored a foster child's holiday wish this year and bought her Monster High dolls!

Every Creepmas home needs their own Pumpkin King! Funko Pop figures are fun to collect and again I have this toy in my collection!

Mady, Mortis & A Friend - Happy Caturday

You know how much I love these little (in Morty's case big) fur balls. They are constantly by my side - in fact Mady is on my lap now as I type this.

After Halloween sales let us score some cute toys that they are not impressed with. You might be wondering what the basket is in the background - it is their hallway toy stash, the ones they play with in the middle of the night. They have one in the living room too. The hard life right?

We even picked up a bed for them marked down by $20! It took about a week for one of them to use it but Mortis has claimed it as his nap spot!

This is our feral friend Mama. She has been hanging out at our house for 3 or 4 years now. She will trot in doors at times, eat the leftovers (which are rare with Mortis around) and leave. Each morning she waits for her big bowl of crunchies. She has been flirting with Mortis lately and he is confused! Ick - girl germs!

Mar Update - Good News!

We started off last week on a not-so-good note. Mar was having trouble getting to the litter box, moving around, eating - just a lot of stiffness. We took him in to the vet and while his BUN and creatinine where at good levels his potassium was once again on the low side. So after starting him back on his supplement and giving him a few days to rest he was back to his old meowing at 5AM self.
When he was not feeling well he had an accident on his favorite scratching post and we had to throw it out. Mar recently got a get well gift from my good friend - $50 to spend at PetCo. So after the accident with his scratching post/lounge we went on a mission to find him one he would use, not like the other 5 collecting dust he has no interest in. I picked out the biggest one and he is content! I catch him chillin' in it often, like last night before bed.
Thank you again everyone for the love and support you have showed my baby kitty over the last month. It means the world to me. Mar will be relaxing for a 2 week off from the vet break. I release my newest zine this week in hopes of getting some of the vet bills paid off. Stay tuned!

Sacramento Birthday Fun

My birthday is officially tomorrow but my boyfriend took me to Sacramento on Saturday for birthday fun since I did not want to have a get together this year.

First up Sugar Plum Vegan really hooked me up for my birthday meal. We ate for free (Matt gave them a good tip though!). I had the antipasto panini - so tasty. They have stepped up their game with the tempeh bacon and Daiya - in the past it was a bit scarce or dried out - this time perfect! Across the street Never Felt Better was having a bake sale, we dropped off some cakey moist brownies and low cal chocolate muffins (recipe testing these for the next issue of my zine).

At the bake sale I bought the magnet above, a tasty Sweet Cups that I shared with Matt and a doughnut that I shared with Matt and Mar when we got home later that night. I could not buy much due to the fact it would have been melted in the car since we were running around all day. I also bought some gifts at Never Felt Better and dropped off The Easy Vegan zine (which is 32% off in my Etsy right now till June 30 for my birthday. Use code HAPPYBDAY when checking out).

At Phone Select where the bake sale was hosted I bought some zines and then we walked a block over to Dragatomi and I bought a few blind box toys! I love the best Friends Forever series!

While in Sacremento we looked at a few tattoo shops, did some shopping at Lush and Whole Foods and the Lego store for Matt. I even tried out some crackle nail polishes, I do not paint my nails often - but I get a urge now and then!

We made our way on home stopping at Loving Hut for dinner. I had the Heavenly Salad which was light but filling!

Thank you Matt for a fun day!

Anniversary - Easter Weekend

Over the weekend my boyfriend and I celebrated our five year anniversary. We headed up to Sacramento for a day of eating, shopping and having fun.

First stop was to Never Felt Better where we restocked the store with our goodies and picked up some stuff - like Nacheez - which I will review this week! Jen always carries the coolest stuff!

We had lunch down staires at Sugar Plum Vegan. I had a yummy tofu frittata!

We walked off lunch around mid town. We heard about a designer toy store on our last trip to Sacramento so we searched it out. Dragatomi could easily clear out my bank account. Matt bought me a Bossy Bear and I bought a blind box Miss Cupcake - which was turned out to be the strawberry character - awesome! I am lusting after the kitties pictured! We also discovered Spanglish art gallery/store/work space! I was really into the photos on display by Amanda Lopez. I can't wait to take a screen printing class in the summer!

We looked around Ikea and got some ideas, bought some vases then headed to another part of town. At the mall Matt stocked up on Lego bricks as we sipped a supper yummy blueberry - pineapple kona pop iced tea from Teavana. We stopped at Whole Foods and made our way back home.

In Elk Grove we stopped at Loving Hut for dinner. We had golden rolls and for dinner I got the Golden Beauty with brown rice. Super crispy tastiness!

The Easter bunny brought Mar a cat bed that is shaped like a cat face - he loves it! Also he got a natural paper poof ball as you can see in the corner!

I hope everyone had a great weekend!
