What's New In My Purse

New things that have found their way into my purse over the last month. I try to keep my purse light because my last purse snapped on me and it was a favorite of mine. Boo hoo!

Haiku RFID Mini Wallet. I bought this in hopes it will be a good essentials wallet when I do not feel like toting around my everyday wallet. It hold about 3 cards, a few bills and it fits into my pocket and small purse without bulk. The material is sturdy and has a security band to keep stuff safe. It even has an ID window inside. $15

A new staple in my purse is Unicorn Farts OCD Hand Sanitizer by Fortune Cookie Soap. When I was shopping on the site I saw this line and at first I was outraged thinking it was mocking OCD, then clicked on a link that said that some of the proceeds go to TheOCD Foundation. As a person who has OCD I want to support causes that help anything that has to do with mental illness especially ones that are overlooked. $2.89

Question: how often do you clean your purse and wallet? Found any weird stuff lurking about lately?

Random Food Pr0n

Gochujang glazed tofu with steamed broccoli over jasmine rice. I mix Gochujang (San - J brand), rice vinegar, soy sauce and a Sriracha together and pour over extra firm tofu after frying a bit, continue to fry so you get it all caramelized and tasty. Post gym meals usually look like this on the weeknight.

I went up to the counter to pay for lunch at Blossom Vegan and saw slices of mocha chocolate cake and was like 'please bring me a slice with two spoons to share with my dude!"...

Vegan mint milk shake split for two via Saturn Cafe. We usually get the loteria meets Star Wars table in the back! I like ordering pancakes and french fries - because I can!

Even when they spell my name wrong this drink is super yum. Coconut milk vanilla bean frap + a banana blended in minus the whip cream. Tip: just get it with coconut milk, soy milk makes it taste watery and gross!

These are just a few of the things I have been munching on....

Souley Vegan Po Boy Delight

Matt and I turned on DDD  - Food Network to see our town featured. First up though they showcased Souley Vegan in Oakland - a place we have been to before. We were both happy to see a 100% vegan place on Food Network. The item that stood out most was the Po Boy. We both decided we have to get one next time in town.
The menu online only sates a 'shrimp' version is offered but the restaurant menu offers a 'chicken' version. Both of us are not a fan of seafood like tastes so we opted for the seitan based chicken. Our food came out fast but the side of fries did not appear on our plates so we had to ask for them and got indifferent looks. Same with the hot sauce - once on the table - free flowing, now served in a dinky lil bowl. One bite of the sandwich though I was happy! First time in weeks I said how much I enjoyed eating and was hungry. Each lil seitan nugget was crunchy and flavorful. The veggies are crisp and cooling. A big sloppy sandwich but sure worth the mess!

We have found the food in the past mediocre here but this sandwich was awesome. It had loads of flavor - something we found lacking in the past. Try it with a cayenne lemonade (my fave drink!)  like I did!

Still Ill

The sinus infection I have been battling has been dwindling in severity over the last few weeks. I was on antibiotics and continue using my inhaler. Since taking the antibiotics my taste buds have been thrown off, nothing tastes right but I hope that now that I have finished them I can taste food again. I am really tired still and have coughing spells. Now Matt is under the weather...ugh!

A few things that have helped us feel better include: sleep (for me sometimes at least 12 hours), Umcka Cold Care SyrupRicola Origina, tea,  soft foods (when it was to difficult to chew for me),  Olbas Nose Inhaler and more sleep.

I hope to get back into the groove of things again. Right now I need a nap!

Unreal Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups

Recently I bought and tried Unreal Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups. They are vegan and if you buy them in bag form, they come individually wrapped. This makes them perfect for tucking into a lunchbox or putting a few in the freezer for  lends a salty kick to the mix. These remind me of the specialty peanut butter cups that came out during holidays I enjoyed as a child, one treat I always looked forward too.
I bought these at Target and will most likely buy them again. It is nice finding new vegan treats when you least expect it!
