Looking Cute In San Jose - Fashion Harajuku Walk

Group shot - a diverse mix of fashion!

I pulled out my bone tights and platform Converse for the event.I tried going for my everyday but jazzed up look!

This is Daisy - she helped organize the event. I liked following her around because she was sporting a super cute plush Purin backpack that brought a smile to my face!

Jacky (who I know from the zine scene) was another organizer and how I found out about the event! How she wears so many accessories and manages not to topple over baffles me!

Mira looks like a purple haired space princess from the planet cute!

Having fun in the Disney Store.

Lolitas do more than just tea parties - they grab drinks in the food court!

Bonding time over vegan food and cute tattoos!

Thank you to mister boyfriend Matthew for helping with photos and my anxiety to approach new people and talk to them. Thank you to Jacky for the invite. Thanks to everyone I met and who let us take photos. There will be more posted to Super Cute Kawaii soon!
I cannot wait to get back to San Jose! The Westfield Mall/Santana Row was a really nice area. Between vegan food like Veggie Grilll and Loving Hut there was plenty of shopping to be done. Tokyo Japanese Lifestyle, Lush, American Apparel and stores I did not get a chance to hit up outside the mall area all made my bank account sigh.

Delezhen Jewelery Love

I have been on a real gold kick lately. It started with me buying a pair of Versace sunglasses that have gold accents. So now I mix silver and gold together and think nothing of it. I even try to grab gold more and mix it into my wardrobe-accessory-stash.

For our anniversary Matt did a little wishlist shopping for me after we agreed on not getting each other anything (besides cards and a 6 pack of beer I bought him)! Matt picked out a black onyx necklace from Delezhen that I had on my wish list. After handing it to me and me telling him that he broke the rules I opened it up all giddy like. I was so happy but then I noticed a pearl on the clasp and said that I did not know it contained non-vegan animal/sea life bits. I was sad, that I did not know it contained a pearl, so he contacted the shop owner and she said she can me a vegan version. We sent it back and in a week I had my new necklace! I have worn it a few times since I have gotten it - I really like the simplicity of it. Even though it is a simple design it is really eye catching and striking!

Sacremento, Sizzling Tofu And More

We went to Sacramento on Saturday. We had not been up there for awhile and wanted to do some shopping and eating. We had lunch at Pita Kitchen which is always tasty. The headed over to the mall and did shopping. My score of the day is this Juicy Couture ring:

I have been wanting this cuff  in black but it was leather and I have not found an alternative. I figure the ring captured the style and it was on sale!

We stopped into a new fave store in the K Street  mall called Good Stock. I found some fun jewelry and Matt found a hat. We then made our way to Lush were I spent way to much. I am in love with Let The Good Times Roll, it smells like candy! After that we went to Whole Foods and were disappointed in the selection of to go stuff, no vegan pastries and hot case items...boo! Oakland Whole Foods really worked it's magic on us.

Dinner was Loving Hut in Elk Grove. I ordered a stand by noodle bowl and it arrived with faux shrimp, I had to pick those out, the make me squeamish. Matt tried a new special, a sizzling tofu plate, pictured above. I sampled it and it is really good!

Fun day and it made me want to go back to Sacramento again soon to the stores we missed out on.

Fashion, Makeup & More Inspired By The Night Circus

I finished Erin Morgenstern's The Night Circus after a friend sent me a copy and I am in love with the tale. The story is magical, romantic (but not in a sappy or over the top) and inspirational. The writing is so well done you can imagine the circus in detail. I kept thinking old time glamorous fashion and magic.

Here are some of my picks and ideas that surfaced from the book. These are total inspiration pieces that I would use to create a look based on the book - in real life or in my head. Also I have included some things that just that reminded me of the story. If you have read the book do you have any of your own ideas? If you still have not read the book - go do so now!

Madd Style Cosmetics Swamp Thing eyeshadow shifts colors from green to blue...No need for a color shifting dress when you have a vegan shadow that adds color shifting magic to your look.

Shadows on the wall that seem so real! Create some of your own imagery out of paper and light with Suowen's paper cut circus shadow puppet.

When performing one needs a look that captures attention and Mme. Padva created so many wonderful looks. Gloomth's shop. contains beautiful pieces like the shrug above and other fancies that will get your performance noticed.

The Magician tarot card pendant in sterling silver by KA Gold Jewelry captures elements of the circus perfectly.

If I came upon an umbrella that protected me from rain and kept me dry I would not give it back. Maybe this necklace has the same power, or one can dream!

Passing time on the train with red yarn in search of the next circus destination will keep you busy. Make red scarves for your friends - new and old as long as they love the circus. If you need magic to turn yarn into a scarf just buy this vegan safe snood from KnotOriginal.

Keep your friends updated when the circus is in town with these postcards inspired by the book from LostPlotsShop.

Even if you do not know a skilled German clock maker you can get a clock online. Design objects has a black and white themed circus clock that will help you count down till the circus is in town again!

Desperately Seeking Susan - Style Points

I sat Matt down to watch a movie from my childhood - we (my sister and I) really loved Madonna as all girls did in the 80s. Desperately Seeking Susan hits all the 80s high points when it comes to film - fashion, fun, great music and sappy love.
Again I love the fashion. While decking yourself out in head to toe 80s garb will be OK if you are going to a costume party it might get you some strange looks while at the farmer's market. I found some updated fashion pieces that were inspired by the movie that you can rock any day and anyway you like!

This is an arty take on a rosary. I like it and and it comes in a few finishes. Dueling Cross Necklace by Alex And Chloe.

I think at one point we all rocked the fingerless lace gloves - these gloves by ZenAndCoffee makes me feel nostalgic.

You need a skull train case to haul your stuff around in - or keep in a locker. This one by Betseyville is cute!

You can create your own hair bow with lace or tulle (black of course) or if you cannot be bothered to go to the fabric store check out CrossWoodStore and grab a black lace bow to rock!

No need to knock over a museum to score some rare, priceless Egyptian earrings. TashaHussey has you covered. Make sure to only wear one to get that cool girl vibe!

Thanks Luna!

Big thank you to Luna the Fashion Kitty for sporting a ribbon I made her for Pet Cancer Awareness month! She is also giving her fans the facts of pet cancer on her page!
