[13 Days of Halloween] Day 7 - Pumpkin Dandies Review
I finally got my paws on a bag of Pumpkin Dandies Marshmallows over the weekend. I saw them online last year and this year but never found them in store till I was in Whole Foods (Arden - Sacramento) last Saturday. My mistake was I bought one bag - I should have bought more! Hopefully I can get a few more bags because these lil fluffy sweet morsels are divine!
First up I made Matt and I each a cup of cashew milk hot cocoa topped with a fistful of Dandies - yum! It was the perfect end of the day treat. The pumpkin flavor blended well into the dark chocolate coco I served up. it was like having a coffee house treat at home. As I was making the cocoa Mady had to sample them and was purring with happiness.
I made crispy treats yesterday with them. The mini marshmallows melted perfectly (in the past the bigger sizes tended not to melt fast enough unless I cut them down into thirds). The marshmallows made the brown rice cereal I used taste like fall. Perfect! I paired a treat with a cup of tea and I was in heaven!
These are so tasty! They make pumpkin spice special. Dandies vegan marshmallows are the best thing since sliced bread! They have the ability to bring back memories and create new ones!

Crafty Christmas
I tried making a some of my gifts this year. I ended up knitting 4 simple rib scarves, 2 pair of knitted fingerless gloves, 2 8-bit art pieces for my boyfriend and a whole lot of rocky road bark with Dandies marshmallows!
Our friend Kyle and the scarf I made him - the scarf that started my month of crazy knitting! I used my camera phone and the a app with tons of film effects for something muted and vintage..

Mega Man portrait for Matt - my first big piece - I used some ideas I found off the net because I am still new to pixels and beads...

Mario piranha for Matt, my first time using 2 boards in a project:

Rocky road bark...It is a hit now and being requested like crazy!

[day 9] Rice Kirspy Treats!

Yup - I made rice krispy treats the other day and they reminded me of youthful days when my mom would make them for me! For 15 or so years I had yet to have a decent rice krispy treat due to lack of decent vegan marshmallows. Then Dandies came along and made me go all nostalgic for the treats of my youth!
[Rice Krispy Treats - Vegan Style]
6 cups of Barbara's Brown Rice Crisps cereal*
1 bag of Dandies
2 tablespoons of Earth Balance
Melt EB in a large pan, when melted add Dandies, let melt over medium heat for a few minutes until they are melted (stir them every few minutes). Add cereal, turn off heat and mix well. Put mixture into a lubed 8X8 pan (or larger if you like thinner treats) and let cool for a hour!
*Original Rice Krispies are said to contain D3 - lanolin - ick!
