Spring has sprung. A day on the calendar does not help determine that for me. Nope - my skin breaks out in tiny blisters and I itch like I am a bug buffet, that is how I can tell spring is here. So I wanted to get myself a few skin soothers and ended up with a nice mix of tropical scents.
So not everything is heavily scented on my list but this Pacifica Cactus Water Micellar Cleansing Tonic is refreshing and has a load of feel good tropical flower extracts. It really removes stuck on makeup and oily grime. I use it after taking my makeup off with coconut oil and my skin feels cleaned and refreshed not dry and itchy.
Pacifica Pore Refine Deep Detox mask is loaded with stuff I like to eat in my fruit salad: berries and lemon. It helps get rid of clogged pores and shine - things to consider as the weather starts warming up. The texture is very runny and the formula is clear something I did not expect with a mask but it is not bad. The smell is light but fruity. It dries pretty fast and once rinsed off my skin felt soft and refreshed. This is a good mask - one I will go back to. Masks are something I have been missing out on - either they leave my skin to dry or do nothing for me. This feels like it will keep my skin happy.
This Hempz body lotion in Goji Orange Lemonade is amazing! It smells like a melted Popsicle on a hot summer day. It is sweet and refreshing at the same time. The lotion moisturizes nicely and does not leave a greasy residue on my skin. Plus I do not get chest breakouts like I have in the past with other highly moisturizing citrus lotions. It is cooling and light but leaves you soft and smelling great! This is a limited edition scent - get it while you can!
I walked into Lush and noticed the new Yuzu And Coconut Shower Cream and walked out with the big bottle. It smells good - like a tropical cocktail. It is moisturizing but not greasy and the scent lingers on your skin. The bright yellow color makes me think of happy warm days and flowers in bloom.Sometimes cream products make me feel oily after I wash them off but this left behind nothing but soft skin.
If you try any of these products and like them let me know!

Winter Dry Skin Help - My Current Fave Products
As I talked about before I get dry hands. In the winter my hands can become sore, between my fingers get dried and cracked and just hurt. I am always on the lookout for super moisturizing products that heal, smell great and of course are vegan and cruelty free! So if you have a favorite let me know so I can go try it out!
I love basmati rice - it is my fave so when I saw Epically Epic Soap had a solid lotion with this fragrance I snatched it up! It is more floral than nutty like when I have rice on the stove top but it has a comforting warm scent. I use this before bed to sooth me to sleep. It absorbs nicely, it is non greasy and the scent lingers. It also smooths out friz in winter dry hair as I tested out this week!
Lush's Sympathy For The Skin was first sampled in December, I had never tried it before. Once I tried it the cocoa-oatmeal scent melted my heart and made me feel cozy! I went and bought a tub after my sample ran it's course. It is lighter than other Lush lotions so I really like it, I can even use it on my chest without breakouts. At close to $30 it is a treat but a nice lil treat that will last. A bit goes a long way!
Le Beuree's Beurre Shea Butter Body Cream - I received this in January's Petite Vour box and I really like it. The sent is clean and sweet and sticks around. It is a thick putty like cream, warm it up between your hands before smoothing it in for best results. I like it for my hands at night and any dry patches that pop up. I think it is to heavy for all over use - especially for the chest and back, it may cause breakouts.

Tropical Shower Delight
I am slowly feeling better from whatever I caught last week. I enjoyed a roller derby game over the weekend, lots of sleep and a tropical shower! My mood is still blah and I get drained pretty easily but all in all I am getting better!
I received my body care order from The Sudsatorium last week and even with a stuffed up nose I smelled the delights wrapped up in the package. I found the company while searching for new vegan beauty booty online. At first the packaging/display reminded me of Lush but then I was caught up in the unique scents and ingredients they were using.
Enter Monkey Business Soap, a delightful banana packed bar of pure delight. It has actual banana pieces floating in the bar. It smells fruity and creamy thanks to the real bananas and soy yogurt. Not tons of lather but tons of scent and it leaves me feeling clean. The bar actually scents up the whole bathroom and I cannot stop smelling it.
There are many delights I want to try from The Sudsatorium, where do I start? From body care and lip products to shampoo! So much to choose from. All vegan and handmade to boot! Go check them out for yourself! Get clean and smell nice!

[Vegan MOFO Day 14] Good Enough To Eat - Body Butter + Contest CLOSED
By now you all know I love baked goods/food scented products for my body. When I was informed that Trader Joe's had a coconut body butter that was vegan I ran out and bought one. The smell reminds me of vanilla frosting mixed with birthday candles - I know odd right? It is not an overwhelming scent but light and sweet. What makes this body butter amazing is that it absorbs right away and instead of a greasy oily residue your skin is velvety soft! I have been using this on my sensitive hands before bed and it is really nice!
I bought another tub of the body butter to give to one lucky winner. All you need to do is tell me when it comes to body products do you have a favorite scent and if so what is it? It also helps if you have a way for me to contact you if you are the winner. The contest is open to everyone and I will pick a winner Sunday October 28th in the afternoon! Good luck!

[Vegan MOFO Day 4] Good Enough To Eat: Coconut Lime Shower Wash
On a whim I picked up Tree Hut Shea's coconut lime shower while I was at Ulta. I liked how it smelled, kinda tropical but not over powering. I am a fan of things that smell like fruit or baked goods. After using it in the shower my skin felt soft and moisturized. The body wash is free of parabens which is important to me. It is under $10 for a large bottle - it is so creamy a bit goes a long way.
The line says there are no animal ingredients used but after looking around I see some items contain lanolin and bee products. However this body was is vegan and is a great buy! Oh and the scent, while tropical is very clean and great for a gal or a guy! It is not super fruity or perfume-y.

Hempz Lotion - Smells Like Candy
I was at Ulta recently when I stumbled upon Hempz lotion. I have seen it for years but never knew it was vegan (it says so on the label). I tried it on and instantly I smelled like candy! The smell is addicting and it lingers. The formula is nice, not to heavy. If you like fruity, sweet scents pick up a bottle now!
