Earlier this year on a random trip to Costco Matt and I discovered Bark Thins. After seeing them in natural food stores over the last few months we were happy to find them at Target. Not only did Target get them in last month - they had the bags on sale 3 for $10! Score! Seeing as the grocery store we shop at has them marked at $4.99 a pop! We bought are share of chocolate and over the weekend when we ran out I went to get more and went into chocolate panic mode when I could not find the display. I had this crazy hunch to go to the clearance section of the store and I discovered my chocolate fix crowded among dented cans and food rejects. Then I discovered the price at $2.78 a pack and swooped up a handful of chocolatey goodness.
I stocked up on my favorite flavor - the pretzel variety, then went for a few mint and rounded it off with some almond for Matt. Dark fair trade chocolate in-robes pieces of pretzel, mint or bits of almond. A perfect broken off chunk of thin chocolate that melts in your mouth upon contact. Perfect for after dinner with a cup of tea or broken into chunks and tossed into non dairy ice cream. I like that the bags have a zip lock clousure and you can just grab what you need and put the rest away.
When I go back I will see if there are more on the shelves. Who says a pantry full of chocolate is a bad thing?

[Vegan MOFO] Target Tuesday - Get Up And Go
Are you a morning person? Both Matt and I are really not the early morning type people that come alive at 6AM. Monday through Friday, we get up at 7:30, have a routine of bathroom, breakfast, sending Matt off to work and me getting a workout in after a few minutes of the news.
I go for tea and either a bowl of cereal with almond milk or a Luna Fiber bar. Matt has adopted this routine as well.Matt usually get chocolate Zico to replace the tea though. We both like the Simply Balanced Fiery Chai tea.
Not a tea person? How about a cup of fair trade coffee? Target has you covered! They have a varirty of non-dairy milks and organi sugar if you do not take your black.
Need more than an fiber or energy bar? Target has lots of vegan and organic cereals to choose from, from kiddie picks to granola! They also have the best prices after price checking a few stores!
Even if you are like me - not a morning person, hopefully this picks help your mornings a little bit easier!

Theo Spicy Chile Chocolate Bar
So as we know I am a fan of chocolate and spice. So when I came upon this bar over the weekend you know I had to buy it and try it!
The chocolate is rich and dark, it is the predominant taste, the ones that hits you first and stands out. Then a bit of orange flavor comes in and on its tail a spicy kick! The spicy kick is not overwhelming but it is there and it does warm up your mouth. All the flavors mix well together and compliment each other.
If you are looking for some sweet spice to kick off the new year, then grab this bar!

NewTree Belgian Biscuit
I was craving chocolate or something different after a spicy Thai meal on Saturday night. I went into the store looking for something divine in the candy section. I discovered NewTree chocolates. I was curios and a bit hesitant to drop five dollars on one chocolate bar but I really wanted to try something that would make my mouth happy.
I picked out the Belgian Biscuit flavor. It was unique but I figure it was a safe bet. The chocolate is good, not to sweet but not bitter. The finely ground cookie bits add a nice crunchy twist to the mix. The chocolate does not rely on a bunch of sugar to make it good yet it comes of sweet and the texture is good. The chocolate is fair trade and has fiber to boot! Perfect for a PMS snack attack!
